System and Maya requirements
Windows workstations and Autodesk Maya 2022–2026 are supported. The package must contain the runtime for your Maya Python ABI; follow the approval email and package notes.
Download and directory installation
- Use only the attachment or controlled delivery method in the approval email.
- Extract the complete
MayaTools_v3directory, includingruntimes. - Place it in a stable user-writable directory; do not run from the archive.
- Run the supplied
bootstrap.pycommand from Maya Script Editor in Python mode.
Install a Shelf button
Create a Python Shelf button and paste the bootstrap launch command supplied with the package. If the local directory moves, update the path stored in the button.
First activation
- Open the activation window on first launch.
- Paste the activation code from the approval email; do not share it.
- Keep the network available and activate. A successful activation binds the current device.
The approved term and device count are stated in your email.
Upgrade and uninstall
Close Maya, preserve custom Shelf buttons, and replace the complete directory according to the new package notes. Never mix runtimes from different releases. Before uninstalling, deactivate this device, then remove the directory and Shelf button.
Change computers or unbind a device
Deactivate the old computer before activating the new one. If the old device is unavailable or the limit is reached, contact support with the application ID and Maya version—never send the activation code.
Troubleshooting
License failure
Check the complete code, expiration, device limit, and system clock.
Network failure
Check internet access, firewall, proxy, and organization policy, then retry. Keep the error code and time if the problem continues.
ABI mismatch
Do not copy a binary runtime from another Maya release. Reinstall the complete package matching your Maya Python ABI.
Approval email missing
Check spam and filtering rules, then contact support with the application ID.
